Katherine Pierce is a certified massage therapist who has been practicing full time in the Southbay for 23 years. She has more than 1,000 hours of massage school classroom education and has taught hands - on massage classes. She loves working with anyone who needs relief from physical pain and emotional stress due to working out, a tough commute, long hours at the computer, raising a family,  treatment and recovery from illness, the challenges of " growing older gracefully", etc. In a nutshell, supporting her clients, younger and older, as they navigate their busy lives. Katherine really enjoys customizing a plan of action for each individual client. One size does NOT fit all! She specializes in deep tissue work but is just as comfortable and happy working with light or medium pressure. Katherine has developed her own style over the years. Some of her long time client's refer to it as being " Katherinized". She combines Swedish, deep tissue, sports, acupressure, neuromuscular, lymphatic drainage, reflexology work in different ways with each client. She is passionate about her work because she has seen first hand , time and time again, the way that thoughtful, well done bodywork can transform her client's quality of life. It never gets old hearing about the pain relief, better sleep, reduced feelings of anxiety and stress, increased energy and stamina, getting sick less often from her clients. Massage is magical!

why she became a Massage Therapist

I became a massage therapist because I was ready to leave my long time career where I was unhappy. I was looking through the classified ads to spark some ideas for change and saw an ad for a massage school. I have always been fascinated by human anatomy, psychology and physiology and had studied those subjects in college. I decided to check into the school. It turned out to be a perfect fit for me and I found out that I have a natural knack and intuition for doing bodywork and a strong ability to connect with people and help them heal. I'm so glad I took that leap of faith!

Why she became a part of the Healing Collective

I am excited to be a part of the Healing Collective because I am eager to work in an environment surrounded by and able to collaborate with other healers. I am at my best professionally and personally when I am " team working" with others who are supporters and healers of their fellow humans!

what excites me about what i do

I feel most passionate about the transformative healing power of massage that I have witnessed every day for the past 21 years. I especially love it because it's not only physical but emotional and spiritual too. I love the connections I make with so many different types of people and I love celebrating their successes and supporting them through their difficulties. I love that massage creates so much good for people and that I'm part of creating it with them!
